Beechwood Cricket Club

Awards Evening 2005

The annual Beechwood awards evening for 2005 took place at The Three Horseshoes in Knockholt.

This year's Guest Speaker was none other than Beechwood's own Glenn Salmon, who, aided by his father, gave an extremely entertaining speech. Stuart Boss will have to work hard next year to top it.

A big thank you to Keith Makin for organising the whole event this year, with just a little help from Tony Freeman, Steve Cooksley and Karen Kelly. But it was Keith who did the majority of the work, checking most days in person that the 'Shoes was still operating and our booking remained intact.

The Ibiza reunion had started

Some more serious faces on the top table, well, by nearly all!

The ever photogenic Tony Freeman

Karen and Steve were delighted to be sitting next to each other

Savory enjoys the free plonk whilst Kelly appreciates his allotted pint for the evening

Smiles all round from Ruth and Graham

Bobby getting in, doing the job, and getting out again

Everyone was looking forward to this year's speech

He saw "Hovis", he got emotional. There there soft lad.

Stuart Boss began to getting very nervous when Glenn started talking about the past.

Captain Woody receiving the French Connection Challenge Cup

Ashley also took Beechwood's Most Valuable Player on Tour award

Cooksley receives the inaugural Salmon Trophy for Fielder of the Year

Freeman regains the Batsman of the Year award

Chris Savory takes the Bowler of the Year award

Chris also gets the Supporters' Player of the Year.....

...but the jubilation is short-lived, as he picks up the Ron Kelly award

Tony Freeman wins "The Jack Townsend Memorial Trophy", for Players' Player of the Year by half a vote from Bradley Hill

Keith wonders who on earth would have been stupid enough to give half-votes

Makin enjoying his reputation of being a footloose and fancy-free batchelor

Bradley Hill enjoys possession of Salmo's "Anti-Heckling" device

A big shout out to the Tenterden posse for their great support once again for our evening
