Beechwood Cricket Club
Awards Evening 2007

The annual Beechwood awards evening took place at Limpsfield on Sunday 9th December 2007 and proved to be a great success.

Chris Savory stole the limelight, not only giving a great speech, but also managing to pick up numerous awards (some not even his!), including the coveted Jack Townsend Memorial Trophy for Players' Player of the Season, as well as Bowler of the Year and Supporters' Player of the Year.

Tony picked up his annual Batsman of the Year award, Steve Cooksley managed to reclaim the Salmon Trophy for fielder of the year, and Graham Rogers eventually picked up the Tourist trophy for his exertions in Austria (on the pitch that is!).

Finally, Colin Robinson won the Ron Kelly award, a decision that everyone seemed to agree with.

Huge thanks to Lin, Tina and Ron for organising such a great evening, and to our sponsor, Stuart Newman of Network for giving out the trophies (once he found the place). Stuart very kindly sent us a letter of thanks - which can be read by downloading here.

Finally, thank you to Tariq for dragging himself from off his sick-bed and taking some photographs of the evening. He has made his photographs (the proper ones!) available to view online. Unfortunately, I can't copy them and put captions to them, so you'll have to make your own up!

Graham, you are uncouth and an oaf.

Beechwood HQ at Limpsfield proved to be a fine venue for the awards evening.

Our sponsor stops Keith in his tracks by telling him he doesn't even like cricket.

The Warners tuck into their ham, egg and chips. Lovely.
